Youth Work
We view ourselves as a family orientated church and believe that it is important to teach and encourage children in the knowledge of God and his Word the Bible. We are passionate about knowing Jesus and making him known and look to support the children and youth of our community with Christian teaching through our:-
Sunday School: 12:30 to 14:00 every week through the year
During our Sunday morning Breaking of Bread service we encourage children that attend with their family to join us in our worship, with the Sunday school starting after this service (12:30). Children are welcome to join us from 12:20 and we do a mini bus pickup in our local community for other children who wish to join us (if you are interested in your child attending Sunday School, please get in touch through the contact page and we may be able to arrange a pick up for your child).
As the Sunday School starts the children participate in action songs, prayer, games and classes that offer age appropriate learning, in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Children who regularly attend Sunday School also enjoy a Christmas Party, Sunday School Anniversary (in May) and a Sunday School Trip (in July).
Wednesday Club (primary aged children upwards): 18:00 to 18:45 (Primary aged Children) and 19:00 to 21:00 (Aged 10 to 18) during school term time
Runs every Wednesday during school term time and is a very informal and fun evening for school aged children. The kids and leaders enjoy some noisy singing of Christian songs (with actions), Bible stories portrayed in all different formats, short time of prayer, a Bible memory verse and exciting games / puzzling / quizzes. Those who attend regularly then get to enjoy trips to the local park in the Summer term and a Christmas Party in December.
As with the Sunday School we do a mini bus pick up from a few local locations and if you are interested in a pick up for your child, please get in touch.
WAM (for high school and upwards): 19:45 to 21:00
As with Wednesday Club, this runs every Wednesday during school term time and whilst it remains informal and fun, there is more of a focus on exploring each young persons faith and beliefs. There is a time of praise to both modern and traditional songs, a time of testimony, sharing of verses that have blessed and short thought for the day. At the end of the year we enjoy a trip to Lytham for a Barbeque (and often a game of football in the failing light!)
Annual Youth Holiday
Once a year the Church take our older youth (high school and upwards) for a holiday, where we enjoy 5 days of Christian fellowship in the Lake District. Whilst we are away we undertake a number of activities to help teach and encourage our young adults through daily prayer meetings and worship meetings. There are also a number of other activities such as local walks, a trip to the swimming baths and various other activities e.g. archery, crate stacking, fencing.
